Standing with us in love

These are the beautiful people standing with us in love, prayer, friendship, and family as we celebrate this special day.

Our friendship started over a fight for desk space in Grade 8, and to resolve our quarrel our maths teacher forced us to be friends.

Fourteen years later, we have become more than friends and truly become sisters, sharing hardships, dreams, and milestones.

We will once again share an aisle, as she helps me walk toward my forever.

It all began in 2016 at Durban University of Technology while we were studying toward our diploma in Architecture.

We used to help each other with projects and assignments, and over time that friendship grew into brotherhood.

We began sharing about everything, including our walks of faith, and today we are not only brothers but humbled servants of Christ.

A friendship that started over 16 years ago in primary school, from playing indigenous games during break time to influencing each other to get high grades in class.

She became more than a friend and truly became a sister, a sister I could always count on.

We have already shared so much, and having her by my side on my special day will make me so happy.

We met in a high school full of Sesotho-speaking people while we were the only Zulu-speaking learners and shared the same surname.

From Grade 10 to Grade 12 we shared the same class, became inseparable, and grew into brothers.

In such a short space of time we have become so close, and now it is hard to remember a time when I did not know her.

I have learnt so much from her, including how beautiful sisterhood can be, and I love that we are rooted in the same Kingdom, the Kingdom of God.

I know that through all the planning, rushing, and panic, she will be by my side, holding my hand and praying with me.

We grew up in the same neighbourhood, and through playing and hunting together we became brothers.

There is a lot I could say about him, but for now I would just say I am forever grateful to have him as my brother.
